Over the years Laurence has acted for main contractors, sub-contractors (including specalist M&E, glazing, remediation and demolition sub-contractors) and consultants.

We offer a "cradle to grave service", providing advice from project inception to project completion. We carry out pre-contract and commercial reviews, provide pragmatic advice during the construction phase and ensure that any post completion issues are resolved efficiently.

Laurence has nearly 25 years construction law experience - City trained, City partner. He has vast national and international experience in commercial, infrastructure, and construction projects. He is experienced in all aspects of non-contentious construction, advising on and drafting building contracts and associated documentation including consultant appointments, collateral warranties, bonds, guarantees and letters of intent. He is familiar with all major forms of construction contract (JCT, NEC, FIDIC, IChemE, IMechE).

Over the years, he has had extensive experience of procurement (both public and private) and has reviewed and drafted OJEU notices, PQQ's, bidder agreements, consortium agreements, non-disclosure agreements, joint ventures (both vertical and horizontal), framework agreements and memoranda of understanding.

Laurence manages a variety of litigation procedures - High Court/ County Court litigation (including insolvency and debt recovery), arbitration, adjudication, expert determination or alternative dispute resolution mechanisms such as mediation and conciliation.

Laurence deals with various insurance and property matters and advises on property transactions including development agreements, management agreements and finance agreements.

Prior to establishing Sheppard Consulting, Laurence was the Group Head of Legal and General Counsel of a major contractor for over 9 years.
